Navigating this project has been a masterclass in digital frustration. I went into this expecting a straightforward technical exercise, but I quickly realized that the Google Ads interface is a moving target. It feels like every time I finally get comfortable with where a specific metric or setting is located, the UI shifts, leaving me hunting through menus that weren’t there yesterday.

The biggest challenge, however, hasn’t just been the tool, it’s the outdated instructional videos provided in the classroom. Watching a tutorial from years ago feels like looking at an ancient relic. The buttons are in different places, and the terminology has evolved. Trying to follow a step-by-step guide when the screen in front of me doesn’t match the video is incredibly draining. I found myself doing extra research on my own to understand what the assignment expected from me and where to find the information needed to complete the said assignment.

I’ve learned that in digital marketing, static knowledge is a myth. Success isn’t just about “learning the tool”; it’s about developing the patience to troubleshoot a platform that changes faster than the curriculum can keep up with. It’s been a lesson in adaptability, but I’d be lying if I said the constant UI changes didn’t make me want to pull my hair out.

That said, I am really learning a lot about Google ads in general, as well as how to make my website more functional and profitable.
